Udupi, June 27: Adarsha Hospital has achieved another milestone in vascular care by successfully performing the first Endovenous Microwave Ablation (EMA) procedure in Udupi.

EMA is a minimally invasive thermal ablation technique used for the treatment of varicose veins. The procedure utilizes microwave energy to close diseased veins, offering patients a safe, effective, and minimally invasive alternative to conventional surgery. Benefits include reduced pain, faster recovery, minimal scarring, and shorter hospital stay.

The procedure was successfully performed by Dr Guruprasad D Rai (Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon), Dr Sukhen Shetty (Cardiac Anaesthesia) and his team at Adarsha Hospital, Udupi.
