Udupi, Jun 28: Following the resounding success of Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season-1, Daijiworld Udupi Studio has officially announced the launch of Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season-2, a prestigious singing competition aimed at discovering, nurturing, and promoting talented singers.
Organised by Daijiworld Udupi Studio under the banner of Kishoo Enterprises, the competition, aptly described as an “Ocean of Melodies,” offers a golden platform for aspiring singers to showcase their vocal talent and gain recognition.
The poster for Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season-2 was unveiled on June 21 at Mandavi Sabha Bhavan, Kadiyali, Udupi, by renowned anchor Alwyn Danty, who officially launched the event by drawing the curtain on the competition’s promotional poster.











Dr K Shridar Ranganath Pai, professor of pharmacology at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MAHE, Manipal, and administrative officer at AGE, Manipal, officially handed over the microphone to the main judge of Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season-2, Yashwanth M G.
Speaking on the occasion, Yashwanth M G, judge of Daijiworld Swara Sagara, expressed his gratitude to Daijiworld Udupi for entrusting him with the responsibility once again. “Daijiworld Udupi gave me this opportunity by placing their trust in me, and I am grateful for that. During the first season, participants from various parts of the country came forward for auditions. Music has the unique ability to connect hearts and unite people. When the second season was announced, I was delighted to be a part of it once again. Every programme organised by Daijiworld Udupi is conducted with fairness and transparency. Their primary objective is to bring deserving talent into the limelight,” he said.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest of the event, Dr K Shridar Ranganath Pai, said, “The undivided Dakshina Kannada district has produced several stalwarts who have enriched Yakshagana and Talamaddale and earned widespread recognition. Personalities like Govinda Bhat, Kumbale Sundar Rao, Narayan Hegde, Gopalkrishna Bhat, and many others have made invaluable contributions to Kannada culture. Music, too, is a divine expression of Vagdevi. It is a powerful art form that enables people to convey their emotions and feelings while nurturing concentration and creativity. Platforms like this provide aspiring singers with an opportunity to showcase their talent and emerge with confidence.”

Shreyas Kotian, research student and Abhivyaktha jury, Nitha Prabhu, political spokesperson and Abhivyaktha grand finals jury, Joseph Menezes Sasthan, philanthropist, Kishore Gonsalves, managing director of Kishoo Enterprises, Kevin Rodrigues, manager of operations at Daijiworld Udupi Studio, staff members, and others were present on the occasion.
The competition is open to individuals aged 16 years and above who possess a basic understanding of music, including notes, tempo, and other musical aspects. Participants will undergo auditions and subsequent rounds, all of which will be recorded at the Daijiworld Udupi Studio.
The audition will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Mandavi Sabha Bhavan, Kadiyali, Udupi.
The winners will receive an attractive prize pool worth Rs 1 lac, making the competition one of the most rewarding platforms for budding singers in the region. Apart from cash prizes, participants will receive valuable exposure and an opportunity to showcase their talent before music professionals and a wider audience.
Rules and Regulations
- Participants must be above 16 years of age.
- Participants should have a basic knowledge of music (notes, tempo, and other musical aspects).
- Each participant will be given 2–3 minutes to perform during the audition.
- Participants may perform songs in any language during the audition rounds. However, language restrictions will apply in the subsequent rounds of the competition.
- A keyboard will be provided by the organisers for the audition round.
- Songs containing abusive content or those that hurt any individual, caste, or religious sentiments are strictly prohibited.
- Participants must attach the YouTube link of the song they intend to sing at the time of registration.
- The audition round will be held on August 9, 2026, at Mandavi Sabha Bhavan, Kadiyali.
- All participants appearing for the audition round will receive a certificate of participation.
- Contestants selected for the next round must be present on the scheduled recording day. No second opportunity will be provided.
- The competition will be conducted in multiple rounds, and all recordings will take place at the Daijiworld Udupi Studio.
- Contestants who reached the grand finale of the first edition of Daijiworld Swara Sagara will not be permitted to participate in the second edition.
- The judges' decision will be final.
- The organisers reserve the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the competition at any time if necessary.
- Detailed instructions regarding reporting time will be communicated after registration.
- Participants have the chance to win cash prizes worth Rs 1 lac (first, second, and third place) along with trophies.
- Registration fee: Rs 200 (non-refundable).
