Deraa, Jun 29: Calm returned to Abdeen village in western Deraa countryside a day after Israeli forces entered the area, according to reports from the ground.

Residents who had fled their homes on Sunday began returning gradually by evening after Israeli forces withdrew from Tal al-Maghar hill, where they had been stationed for several hours.

During the night, Israeli forces fired flares over the area, while reconnaissance aircraft were seen flying overhead, creating fear among local residents.

Earlier, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said Israeli forces had carried out incursions and artillery shelling in Deraa as well as Quneitra, describing the actions as a "flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity".

The head of Civil Defence operations under the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate in southern Syria told state news agency SANA that the Israeli attacks did not cause any injuries or material damage.

However, the military activity triggered panic among villagers, forcing some residents to temporarily move to nearby towns.

Civil Defence teams are currently working to secure the area and monitor the situation, officials said.
