Mangaluru: Srinivas University organises guest talk on ‘Basic Etiquettes and Professionalism’

Mangaluru, Jun 30: The department of BBA, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, organized a guest talk on ‘Basic Etiquettes and Professionalism’ on June 29, in Room No 414. The programme was conducted for II BBA C and III BBA A section student, with the objective of creating awareness among students about professional behaviour, workplace etiquette, and essential soft skills required for career development.

The session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 70 students. The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Bhoomika from II BBA C section, followed by an engaging session by the resource person Prof Kevin, assistant professor, department of hotel management, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, Srinivas University.

Prof Kevin delivered an insightful session highlighting the importance of professional etiquette, communication skills, grooming standards, positive attitude, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. The resource person explained how maintaining proper professional conduct helps students build confidence and create a positive impression in academic and corporate environments. Practical examples and industry-based experiences shared during the session made the programme highly informative and interactive.

The session also emphasized the importance of developing workplace readiness among students by improving their communication abilities, time management, discipline, and professional approach. Students actively participated throughout the session and gained valuable insights into the expectations of the industry and the role of professionalism in career success.

The programme was graced by the presence of Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean, IMC; Prof Shilpa K, head of the department, BBA; Prof Shwetha NS, course coordinator, BBA department; Dr Bharathi and Prof Ramya A, guest talk faculty coordinators; and Fuhad Zineen, student coordinator.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sanusha Santhosh from III BBA B section. The guest talk on ‘Basic Etiquettes and Professionalism’ proved to be a valuable learning experience, inspiring students to enhance their professional skills and prepare themselves effectively for future career opportunities.

The programme was successfully organized under the guidance and support of the department of BBA, IMC, Srinivas University.
