Mangaluru, Jun 30: The department of BCom, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, formally inaugurated its Placement Cell Forum and launched the five-day career readiness programme titled 'Career Launch' at the Auditorium, Srinivas University, Pandeshwara Campus under the guidance of Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, IMC, Prof Sharmila Shetty, HOD, department of BCom and Prof Yashaswi A Ail, ACCA course coordinator.

The programme commenced with an invocation prayer rendered by Gauthami (III BCom honours) and Vindhya (II BCom ACCA), invoking the blessings of the Almighty for the success of the initiative. The guests and participants were warmly welcomed by Prof Vinutha H K, placement coordinator, department of BCom. The Placement Cell Forum was formally inaugurated by Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, Institute of Management and Commerce, along with the chief guest, Suprita Shine, assistant professor, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Venkatesh S Amin encouraged students to make the best use of the Placement Cell Forum and actively participate in career development initiatives that would enhance their professional competencies and employability.

The chief guest, Suprita Shine, delivered an inspiring session on 'Professional Presence 101: From Appearance to Attitude'. Drawing upon her academic and corporate experience, she emphasized professional etiquette, effective communication, positive attitude, confidence, leadership, and personal branding as essential qualities for career success. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation and interaction from the students.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Prof Akshatha Y, department of BCom, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, and students for making the inauguration a grand success. The programme was efficiently compered by Manisha, II BCom Honours, who ensured the smooth conduct of the inaugural ceremony.
