Mangalore, Mar 19: Five people have been arrested by the city police on charges of kidnapping the manager of a bank here on Monday March 19.

Three of the five arrested have been identified as Deepak, Praveen and Uday. They hired an auto rickshaw for the crime. However, the driver of the auto, Harish, is said to be innocent.

The five allegedly kidnapped Tilak, manager of HDFC bank, Mallikatta branch on Monday morning from the bank premises. Tilak is a manager in the loan collection department of the bank.

Soon after, the Kankanady police along with city crime branch officials got into action and traced the kidnappers at Veeranagar, and arrested them. They were then taken from Kankanady to Kadri police station.

Sources said that Tilak was in love with a girl and wanted to marry her. However, their union was opposed by the girl's family. It is learnt that the kidnappers were the girl's brothers.

Ramesh Pandith your pictures were superb but the story was very disturbing. A bank manager is robbed as the family of his girl friend opposed their relationship and that is why he was kidnapped by her own brothers.

Dear Harold D'cunha, you are talking of kidnapping as if it is a child's play citing various permutations and combinations of logic? What message do you want to convey? Take law in one's hands?

I fully do not endorse the kidnapping here by the girls brother. There should be a twist in this entire episode.

Might be this was one sided love as the bank manager has fallen love with a girl. This clearly shows, what one's brother can do to protect their sister. Being the kidnapped person is a manager of HDFC bank, Mallikatta branch definitely he will have a decent salary. Due to decent job, one's family usually agree if it is belongs to same religion.

Might be this man is married or not, this above write up has not disclosed as usually bank managers are matured and requires some experience in banking. Whatever the case, if the bank manager is married man , then, I fully support the brothers. They should have trashed him nicely. If it is one sided love, then also I morally support the brothers.

But if both are in love and the manager is not married, then, the brothers should have involved their parents and issue should have been sorted out, upholding each person's self respect.
