Bantwal, Mar 19: Private education institutions take an earnest interest in studies and prepare the students for public exams, chiefly due to their concern for prestige. It’s rare that government schools take such efforts in this regard. As an exception, Koila Government High School has taken a lead in this regard for the first time in the taluk. The teaching staff, school betterment committee, and the local people aspire to get cent percent results in the forthcoming SSLC exam.

People complain about poor quality of education and poor results in state run schools, which ought to be changed. “Our school has to record 100 percent result in the SSLC exams”, is the goal that Koila Government High School has set and is working in this regard.

Special classes are under way for Class X students at Koila Government High School, with the objective of achieving 100 percent results in the forthcoming public exams. The school authorities are conducting special classes in the night The government schools fared poorly in results compared to the private schools. Classes are conducted as usual at the school from 9 am to 4 pm. Meanwhile, for educationally weaker students, special classes are being conducted from 5 pm to 10 pm and 5 am to 9 am.

Awareness has been created among the students to study and fare well in the public exam that will begin on Monday April 2. The students are motivated by parents, teachers, and school betterment committee to fare well in the public exam and get laurels for the school.

The teaching staff, including head teacher Sujata, are working overtime to get 100 percent results. The school betterment committee and parents are providing food to students during special classes.

The majority of private schools hold special classes and tuitions for the students to achieve better results. The students of state run schools have to depend on mere general classes so far, while the efforts of teachers of Koila Government High School, is a boon to students. The school has been voluntarily conducting special classes as the students in private schools can afford tuitions by paying exorbitant fees. It remains to be seen after the results whether the teachers of Koila School and parents of students will become a role model for other schools.
