Beltangady, Jul 2: A 27-year-old youth was found dead under suspicious circumstances on the premises of a private power substation at Guruvayanakere in Beltangady taluk on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Mustaq (27), son of Sharif K, a resident of Janata Colony in Kalleri, Thanneerupantha.
According to sources, Mustaq's body was found on a sloping area near the retaining wall in front of a private power substation near Shaktinagar in Kuvettu village.

Mustaq, who worked as a driver, was reportedly dropped at Maddadka from Kalleri by his brother, Munaseer, on a motorcycle on June 30.
Police from Beltangady police station, along with the Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) team, visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Kuvettu gram panchayat PDO Imtiyaz also visited the scene.
A case has been registered, and police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death. The exact cause of death is expected to be determined after the post-mortem examination.
