Udupi, Jul 2: On the occasion of Doctors' Day, Chartered Accountants' Day, and Press Day, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, in association with Samskruthi Vishwa Pratishthana and the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Udupi Taluk, honoured distinguished achievers at the Malabar Gold & Diamonds showroom, Udupi on July 1.
Speaking at the event, Poornima, assistant director of the department of Kannada and Culture, said that it is essential for children and youth to become socially responsible and environmentally conscious. She stressed that instead of merely advising children, elders should lead by example through good deeds. She also noted that establishing libraries in homes would help enrich intellectual growth.





















Presiding over the function, Dr Vijay Kumar Manjar, of Pandeshwara Gurukula, said that music, art and literature make life complete. Quoting a classical saying, he remarked that a person without these three is like an animal without horns that does not even graze. He added that doctors safeguard people's physical and mental health, chartered accountants protect the financial well-being of individuals and institutions, and journalists preserve the health of society, making all three professions highly significant.
The event was also addressed by U Vishwanath Shenoy, founder of Samskruthi Vishwa Pratishthana, and Raviraj H P, president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Udupi Taluk Unit.
The Malabar Vishwa Doctors' Award was presented to, Dr A Ramachandra Bayari, Dr K Satish Kamath and Dr Indira V Shanbagh.
The Malabar Vishwa Chartered Accountants' Award was presented to, CA Dev Anand and CA Ganesh Ermalu
The Malabar Vishwa Press Award was presented to, Shashidhar Mastibailu, Balakrishna Poojari Uchila and Ram Ajekar
The citations were read by Dr Bhargavi Aithal, Siddabasayya Swami Chikkamath, and Ranjani Vasanth.
The programme began with a prayer by Vidya Shyam Sundar. Raghavendra Prabhu Karvalu compered the event, Janardhan Kodavoor welcomed the gathering, Vighneshwar Adiga delivered the introductory address, and Rajesh Paniyadi proposed the vote of thanks.
