Heavy rain damages houses at several places in Bantwal taluk

Bantwal, Jul 2: Continuous rain accompanied by strong winds over the past two days has caused damage to several houses across Bantwal taluk.

According to a statement issued by the Revenue Department, a house belonging to Chandrashekara Babu Shetty at Ajekala in Ammadi village was damaged after a tree fell on it.

At Alankaru in Vitla Kasaba village, the house of Vanaja Girish sustained damage, while another house belonging to Seetha Ramesh Nayak at Golikatte in Ananthady village was also damaged after a tree fell on it.

A house owned by Purushothama at Golthamajalu was damaged in a similar incident, while the house of Narayana Ajila at Kukkebettu in Kepu village suffered partial damage.

In another incident, the compound wall of a house collapsed at Kumpanamajalu in Pudu village, causing damage to the property.

Revenue officials are assessing the extent of the damage caused by the rain-related incidents.
