Mangaluru, Jul 3: The Centre for Technical Diploma under the School of Vocational Studies, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), organised 'WAVES-26 – Style That Creates Waves', a vibrant fashion show showcasing students' creativity, confidence, and practical skills at L F Rasquinha Hall on July 3.
The event was presided over by Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). The programme was graced by chief guest VJ Dixon, a national and international celebrity anchor, television host, fashion model, influencer, and actor. The guests of honour were Dr Ronald Nazreth, registrar; Dr Arati Shanbhag, controller of examinations; Janitha, professor and model; and Chaithra Pramod, founder of Vithra Closet, model, social influencer, and digital creator.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ronald Nazreth said the fashion show reflected the true spirit of experiential learning by bridging the gap between classroom education and industry expectations. He noted that education is not only about theory but also about teamwork, dedication, passion, and practical skills that remain with students long after their academic years.
Chief guest VJ Dixon appreciated the organisers for creating a platform that highlights students' talents. He said fashion is more than clothing—it is a form of self-expression that builds confidence, professionalism, and personality, making it valuable across every profession and industry.
The event featured impressive student-designed collections and confident runway presentations, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience. More than just a fashion show, WAVES-26 celebrated innovation, creativity, teamwork, and skill-based learning, inspiring students to transform their talent into professional opportunities.
