Bantwal, Jul 4: The feast of St Thomas the Apostle, patron of St Thomas the Apostle Church, Nirkan-Vogga, was celebrated with deep faith and devotion on Friday, July 3.
The solemn Eucharistic celebration commenced and was presided over by Fr James D’Souza, parish priest of Loretto Church, who served as the parish priest of Nirkan from 1990 to 1997. The holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr Naveen Pinto, judicial vicar of the diocese of Mangalore, and Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, parish priest of St Thomas the Apostle Church, Nirkan-Vogga.













In his homily, Fr James D’Souza reflected on the steadfast faith, missionary zeal, and courageous witness of St Thomas, the Apostle of India. He encouraged the faithful to remain firm in their faith and to proclaim Christ with courage and conviction in their daily lives.
The celebration was made prayerful and meaningful through the active participation of the parishioners and the melodious hymns rendered by the choir. The feast provided an opportunity for the faithful to seek the intercession of their patron saint and renew their commitment to Christ.
Refreshments were served to all those gathered, fostering fellowship, joy, and unity among the faithful.
