Media Release

Udupi, Jul 6: St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi conducted its annual Parent Teachers’ Association general body meet on July 4 witnessing enthusiastic participation from parents.

Dr Vincent Alva, principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur was the chief guest. In his address he applauded the institution for its enduring legacy of nurturing young minds with value-based education and expressed his pride as one of the fortunate parents, whose children had imbibed education in the portals.

He further stressed that while the role of a school is to impart knowledge, it is the parents’ duty to impart education which encompasses values, discipline and character, to their children. On the contrary, he noticed that in today’s fast-paced world, parents often expect schools to shoulder both responsibilities. Urging parents to spend meaningful and quality time with their children, he advised them to minimize the use of mobile phones and be mindful of the examples they set. He also enumerated thought-provoking examples to emphasize that children emulate parents in words, actions and deeds, as parents are the most influential role models for children. He interpolated meaningful songs which captivated the attention of the audience and left them with valuable insights on positive parenting.

A proud moment of the programme was the felicitation of the five outstanding achievers of the grade X CBSE board examinations— Sharan K S, Aarushi Acharya, Rowin Roshan Noronha, Vanshika Kotian and Muskaan. Students who had excelled in the communicative English programme conducted in the school by Accolades were also honoured for their commendable performance.

Following the presidential address, the report of PTA executive body meetings of the academic year 2025-26 and the statement of audited accounts of the association were presented. This was followed by the selection of members of the PTA executive body for the current academic year.

The meet commenced with a soulful prayer rendered by the melodic school choir. The esteemed chief guest, Dr Vincent Alva, principal of Milagres College, Kallianpur along with the school vice principal- Sr Preethi Savitha AC, administrator- Sr Maria Roopa AC and the outgoing PTA vice president- Shamil Quadros and all parent attendees were given a warm welcome through a graceful welcome dance by the elegant dancers of the school.
