Bantwal: Vittal police nab two Kasargod men for stealing lorry batteries; 10 recovered

Bantwal, July 7: Vittal police have cracked a series of lorry battery thefts by arresting two men from neighbouring Kasargod district and recovering 10 stolen batteries.

The thefts were reported from within the limits of the Vittal police station, where batteries were stolen from lorries parked overnight.

Police had registered five cases in connection with the incidents under Crime Nos. 38/2025, 39/2026, 41/2026, 123/2026 and 126/2026.

Following a detailed investigation, police arrested Abdul Shameer P A (50), a resident of Charkala in Kasaragod, and Abdul Majid (33), a resident of Muttathody in Kasaragod.

During the investigation, police recovered 10 stolen lorry batteries from the accused.

The duo was produced before the competent court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
