Parliament Adopts Motion of Thanks to President's Address


New Delhi, Mar 20 (IANS): The motion of thanks to the president's address was adopted by parliament Tuesday after the opposition backed amendments on the issue of National Council Terrorism Centre (NCTC) were defeated in the Rajya Sabha.

Deputy Chairman K. Rahman Khan announced that 82 members had voted in favour of amendments on the proposed anti-terror hub and 105 against them after a division.

Lok Sabha had Monday adopted the motion of thanks to President Pratibha Patil's address to the joint houses March 12.
