Lucknow, Mar 20 (IANS): A young man was killed when a member of Uttar Pradesh's ruling Samajwadi Party opened fire at a wedding in Auraiya district, police said Tuesday.
The assailant was identified as Suleman. The deceased was a cousin of the bridegroom. He was hit by a stray bullet in Khanpur when the marriage procession was going for the wedding.
Suleman's pistol has been seized.
On Monday, the SP warned trigger-happy supporters after television channels showed them firing in the air while welcoming Amroha legislator Mahboob Ali, now a minister.
