Kasargod: KSEB lineman electrocuted while on duty in Madikai

Kasargod, Jul 10: A KSEB lineman died after suffering an electric shock while carrying out maintenance work at Madikai near Nileshwar on Friday July 10.

The deceased has been identified as Bharathan (52), a resident of Madhurambady in Pullur. He was an employee of the Mavungal Section of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB).

The mishap occurred near the bend close to the Kanichira bridge in Madikai. Bharathan had climbed an electric pole to rectify a technical fault in the power line in the Kanichira area when he unexpectedly came into contact with a live wire.

As he was wearing a safety belt around his waist, his body remained suspended on the pole after the electrocution. Fire and Rescue Services personnel later arrived at the spot and brought the body down.

The body has been kept in the mortuary of the district hospital.
