Puttur, Mar 21: A teacher was found loitering in the street heavily drunk on Monday March 19.

Shantappa Waghmare, head master, Sajankady Higher Primary School, in Olamagaru gram panchayat was found loitering on the street in Kumbra beside the Mani–Mysore state highway at about 2 pm on Monday.

The locals informed that Waghmare was lying there till Monday evening, after which he came out of his drunkeness and left.

Waghmare had been transferred from a school he served at earlier due to this bad habit and for being a nuisance to students and the general public. He has continued his bad habit even after joining Sajankady Higher Primary School.

The locals wondered what would be the fate of students if their teacher himself is addicted to alcohol and sought the Block Education Officer (BEO) to take strict action against the erring teacher.
