Mangaluru: Noted theatre personality, journalist Paramananda V Salyan Sasihithlu passes away

Mangaluru, Jul 13: Acclaimed theatre personality, writer, author, and journalist Paramananda V Salian Sasihithlu (65) passed away on Monday, July 13. He is survived by his wife and a son.

Paramananda Salian was a highly respected figure in the cultural and religious spheres of the region. He served as the former president of the Sasihithlu Sri Saranthaya Garodi Ullaya Daivasthana and was the working president of its renovation committee. He was also actively involved in the management committee of the Sasihithlu Sri Bhagavathi Temple.

Deeply passionate about the performing arts, he had directed several plays and was the founding president of the theatre troupe 'Ranga Sudarshana Sasihithlu'.

In the field of journalism, Paramananda Salian served as the editor of the 'Ajeya' monthly magazine and had worked for prominent vernacular dailies including Mungaru and Hosa Digantha. He was widely recognized across various socio-cultural organizations in coastal Karnataka as well as Mumbai.

Family sources stated that the mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at his residence in Sasihithlu today, July 13, at 4 pm followed by the final rites.
