Udupi, Jul 13: The passing out parade of the 14th batch of Armed Reserve Police Constables, organized by the Udupi District Temporary Police Training School at the District Armed Reserve (DAR) Grounds in Udupi on Monday, July 13.
Amit Singh inspected the parade and received the ceremonial salute from the newly trained constables.

Congratulating the recruits, Amit Singh urged them to perform their duties with dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to public service. He said policing is a demanding profession that often requires officers to work under immense pressure, making patience, discipline, and professionalism essential qualities. He called upon newly inducted police personnel to uphold the Constitution throughout their service and give the highest priority to enforcing the law. He also stressed the importance of maintaining physical and mental fitness through self-discipline and self-control to effectively handle the challenges of the job.

Principal of the Police Training School, Sudhakar Nayak, said the 14th batch included former servicemen as well as candidates with higher educational qualifications. He explained that the trainees underwent a comprehensive ten-month training programme covering law, computer applications, mental health awareness, and other contemporary subjects. In addition, they received intensive practical training in physical fitness, yoga, karate, drill, and weapon handling to prepare them for police service.

On the occasion, prizes were distributed to trainees who excelled in indoor and outdoor events as well as firing competitions. Shivappa Channabasappa Itnal, who secured the highest overall performance across all three categories, was honoured with the Best All-Round Trainee Award.

Udupi superintendent of police Hariram Shankar welcomed the gathering, while additional superintendent of police Sudhakar S Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
