Mangaluru, Jul 13: The Youth Commission, in collaboration with the ICYM Naravi Unit, successfully organized ‘Yuva Sangam’, a half-day youth programme, on Sunday at Naravi with the objective of promoting leadership, fellowship, and active participation among young people.
The programme commenced with an inaugural ceremony presided over by Fr Jerome D'Souza, president of the programme.
The dignitaries present on the dais included Sanjay Miranda, vice president of the Parish Pastoral Council, Naravi Church; Sumitha, secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Naravi Church; Sunil D'Souza; Jovel Fernandes, animator of ICYM Naravi Unit; and Lona Miranda, animator of YCS Naravi Unit.
On the occasion, Clinton Pinto, president of ICYM Beltangady deanery, and Shreyas Fernandes, treasurer of YCS Beltangady deanery, were felicitated by the dignitaries in recognition of their valuable service and contributions to the youth movement.
The dignitaries were welcomed by Winston Alvares, president of ICYM Naravi Unit, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Clerissa Miranda. The inaugural programme was compered by Riona and Rolita.
The resource session was conducted by Jaison Pereira, who delivered an insightful and engaging session that was well received by the participants and encouraged active interaction among the youth.
The programme also featured a variety of innovative and entertaining games organized by Lavisha and Jaison D'Souza. The activities were unique, interactive, and greatly appreciated by all participants, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
The gathering was further encouraged by the visit of Fr Larry, director of ICYM Beltangady deanery, along with the Deanery ICYM Committee members, who interacted with the participants and extended their support to the initiative. Fr Rupesh Tauro, advisor of ICYM Naravi Unit, was also present throughout the programme and guided the participants with his valuable presence and encouragement.
The programme concluded on a successful note, providing the participants with an enriching experience of learning, interaction, and fellowship. The youth commission and ICYM Naravi Unit expressed their gratitude to all the dignitaries, resource persons, organizers, volunteers, and participants who contributed towards making Yuva Sangam a memorable and meaningful event.
