Mangaluru, July 13: More than 200 people benefited from Aadhaar enrolment and updation, along with health and accident insurance services, at a day-long public outreach and awareness camp organised at the Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall, Paneer, on Sunday.
The initiative was organised by Our Lady of Mercy Church, Paneer, in collaboration with the Department of Posts, Mangaluru, and supported by the Catholic Sabha Paneer Unit, Health Commission, Family Commission, Labour Commission, Social Development Commission, ICYM Paneer Unit, the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) and the Women's Organisation.
Parish priest Fr Victor D'Mello inaugurated the programme by presenting an Aadhaar card to parish vice-president Urban Ferrao and a health insurance policy to parish secretary Winny Coutinho, symbolically launching the service camp.
Coordinator of the parish commissions Alvin D'Souza welcomed the gathering, while Parish Pastoral Council member Ronald D'Souza compered the programme.
Department of Posts marketing executive Subhash P Saliyan delivered an awareness session on health and accident insurance, highlighting their benefits and underscoring the importance of insurance in safeguarding families against unforeseen financial burdens.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Victor D'Mello said, "Rather than facing financial hardship after illness, every family should secure health and accident insurance in advance. It is an essential financial safeguard that provides protection and security to the family."
