Udupi, Jul 15: St Cecily's English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi, celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel on Wednesday, July 15, with deep devotion, joy, and cultural splendour.
The celebration featured a vibrant entertainment programme hosted by the students of Grade 8A. The stage was beautifully decorated with a meaningful backdrop designed by the students under the guidance of their class teacher Ashwitha.

The programme commenced with a prayer service, setting a spiritual tone for the celebration. Students presented a devotional dance, an inspiring skit titled "What's in Your Backpack?", and a melodious welcome song. Through these performances, they paid tribute to Mother Mary and highlighted the spiritual significance of the Feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel.
The chief guest, Nancy Mendonca, a faculty member of the school, appreciated the efforts of the Grade 8A students and their class teacher for presenting a meaningful programme. Addressing the students, she encouraged them to emulate the virtues of Mother Mary and reflected on the message, "When faith grows, service follows." She also shared six values for students to practise in their daily lives: extending a helping hand, speaking kind words, nurturing good friendships, being truthful, maintaining cleanliness and neatness, and offering sincere prayers.
As part of the celebration, winners of various competitions conducted during the month were felicitated by the chief guest.
The programme began with a warm welcome by Prapthi, while Mohammed Sihan proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, leaving the gathering inspired by the values of faith, love, and selfless service exemplified by Mother Mary.
