Bantwal, Jul 15: Mercine Pinto, aged 83, beloved mother of Benedict Pinto, founder and chairman of the UAE-based Al Khalidiya Group, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15.

Wife of the late Jerome Pinto, Mercine Pinto was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for and supporting her family. Known for her gentle nature, kindness, and strong values, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her children Sister Florine, Everest, Benedict, Vincent, Metilda, Cylwin, Melvin, Shanthi, Jyothi, and Preethi, along with a large circle of family, relatives, and friends.

The funeral procession will leave the family residence at Ballya Mani, Dakshina Kannada, on Saturday, July 18, at 3 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 4:00 pm at St Joseph's Church, Soorikumeru, Borimar in Mani village of Bantwal taluk, followed by the burial at St Joseph's Church Cemetery.

Her son, Benedict Pinto, is a UAE-based NRI entrepreneur and founder of Al Khalidiya Group, a diversified company established in 2005 that has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and excellence across the GCC.
