Mangaluru, Jul 15: A case has been registered at the Women’s Police Station here against two right-wing activists for allegedly harassing a married woman to love one of them, defaming her character upon rejection, and issuing death threats.
The accused have been identified as Kiran Kottari and Raj Marla, both residents of Polali.

According to the complaint, Kiran Kottari, who was an acquaintance of the woman's husband, obtained her phone number in March. He had reportedly been constantly pressuring her to enter into a relationship with him, luring her with gifts and promises of a comfortable life. Despite the woman rejecting his advances, he allegedly continued to stalk her, causing severe mental harassment.
When the woman informed her husband about the ongoing harassment, the accused started spreading malicious lies defaming her character and also targeted her children. The second accused, Raj Marla, allegedly aided Kiran Kottari in spreading the defamatory rumours. Furthermore, Kiran Kottari reportedly carried these false claims to the woman's brother-in-law.
On June 27, when the woman confronted Kiran Kottari near Kaikamba regarding his actions, he allegedly abused her in vulgar language and threatened her with life.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim, the Women’s Police Station has registered a case and initiated steps to arrest the accused.
