Mangaluru: Creativity, values and sustainability shine at Mount Carmel’s School feast competitions

Mangaluru, Jul 17: Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru organized a series of creative competitions across all grades, providing students with opportunities to showcase their artistic talents, creativity and values as part of the celebrations of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of the school.

The celebrations began on 10 July with a Colouring Competition for the Nursery, LKG and UKG children. The little ones enthusiastically coloured flower, butterfly and mountain outlines using vibrant colours, making the event both joyful and engaging.

On 11 July, the students from grades I to XII participated enthusiastically in a variety of creative competitions that showcased their imagination, artistic talent, teamwork and values. Beginning with grade I, students designed big greeting cards dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, while grade II crafted colourful blossom baskets. Inspired by the spirit of Mount Carmel, grade III created beautiful mountain models, and grade IV presented thoughtful Trees of Values highlighting important virtues.

Continuing the celebrations, grade V designed enchanting Garden of Carmel using eco-friendly materials, followed by Grade VI, which transformed waste into useful school products. Grade VII built imaginative community models symbolising human values, while grade VIII constructed impressive landmarks from recycled materials. Students of grades IX and X created intricate mountain landscapes integrating faith and universal values. Bringing the competitions to a memorable conclusion, the senior students of Grades XI and XII presented powerful Story Sculptures that conveyed meaningful messages through visual art.

The competitions reflected exceptional creativity, innovation, environmental consciousness and collaboration. The enthusiastic participation of the students, along with the dedicated guidance of the teachers, made the event a grand success, truly reflecting the vision of Mount Carmel Central School to inspire its students to strive the school motto ‘Higher and Nobler.’
