Bantwal, Jul 18: Bantwal MLA Ashok Kumar Rai visited the residence of Lavanya Gowda, who was murdered at the KSRTC bus stand in B C Road, and offered his condolences to the bereaved family.
Speaking to the media after meeting the family, the MLA said it was deeply unfortunate that a young woman, who had been leading a life through hard work, had lost her life in such a brutal and unjust manner.
He said such incidents should never occur and pointed out that several similar cases had taken place in the past. Stressing the need to prevent such crimes from recurring, Ashok Rai urged the government to enact stricter laws to ensure stronger protection for citizens and deter such offences.
