Bantwal, Jul 18: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bantwal Prakhanda, has submitted a memorandum to the Bantwal Bar Association urging its members not to represent the accused in the Lavanya murder case that occurred in BC Road.

In the memorandum, the organisation stated that the brutal daylight murder of Lavanya at the KSRTC bus stand by the accused, identified as Chetan, had shocked society. It described the incident as a heinous crime in which the young woman was allegedly attacked and killed with deadly weapons in a public place.

Citing the gravity of the offence, the VHP and Bajrang Dal appealed to the Bar Association to pass a resolution requesting that none of its members appear as counsel for the accused in the case.

The memorandum was submitted to the Bar Association by VHP leaders, including Santosh Sarpady, and other office-bearers.
