Kasargod, Jul 19: A 12-year-old boy was found dead after allegedly hanging himself inside a labour quarter at Bedrampalla under the Badiadka police station limits on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Srihari (12), a class 7 student of Banputhadka AUP School and son of Prakashan and Sunitha, who work as rubber plantation tappers. The family hails from Adoor in Pathanamthitta district and had been residing at the quarters provided in a rubber estate at Bedrampalla for some time.

According to police, the boy's parents had gone to the market to purchase household essentials on Sunday afternoon. When they returned, they found the front door of the quarters locked from inside. Despite repeated calls, there was no response.
Growing suspicious, they broke open the door and found Srihari hanging inside a room. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been shifted to the mortuary of Kasaragod General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Badiadka police visited the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
