Udupi: Tree falls on Santhekatte service road, disrupts traffic

Udupi, Jul 22: Traffic was disrupted for some time on the Udupi–Kundapur service road at Santhekatte after a tree fell across the road on Wednesday, blocking the movement of vehicles.

The incident occurred during the day, causing inconvenience to commuters travelling along the busy stretch. Vehicles were forced to slow down, resulting in temporary traffic congestion on the service road.

On receiving information, personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot. With the assistance of local residents, the fallen tree was cut into smaller pieces and removed from the road using appropriate equipment.

Following the clearance operation, normal traffic movement resumed. No injuries or damage to vehicles were reported in the incident. The exact cause of the tree falling is yet to be ascertained. Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution while travelling through the area, especially during adverse weather conditions.
