Bantwal, Jul 22: A UKG student lost her life, and two others sustained injuries when a huge tree was uprooted and crashed onto a moving school bus amidst heavy rain and strong winds near the Kalletti Daivasthana close to Barimaru on Wednesday, July 22.
The deceased girl has been identified as Chiranvi (5), a UKG student and daughter of Chandrashekhar, a resident of Perne.

Anvi, daughter of Ganesh Gowda and a resident of Peraje Sadikukku, suffered serious injuries in the tragic incident. She was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru, where she is currently undergoing treatment under the supervision of specialist doctors. Another student, Kshithi Rai, a resident of Perne, sustained injuries and is receiving medical care at a private hospital in Kalladka.
The school bus, belonging to Sri Rama Vidya Kendra in Kalladka, was transporting children back home. It was travelling from Mani through Baranikere, Barimaru, and Kalletti, en route to Perne via Budoli, when the massive roadside tree suddenly got uprooted and fell on the vehicle.
