Bantwal: Accused arrested in Farangipet bank burglary attempt case

Bantwal, Jul 23: The rural police here have arrested an accused on Wednesday July 22, in connection with the attempted burglary at a bank in Farangipet under the jurisdiction of Bantwal Rural police station.

The arrested is identified as Mohammed Shakhir (33), a resident of Maripalla in Bantwal.

According to the police, miscreants had allegedly drilled through the roof of the bank at Farangipet and entered the premises in an attempt to steal cash and gold ornaments.

Following the incident, a case was registered on July 13, at Bantwal Rural police station in Crime No. 106/2026 under Sections 331(3), 331(4), 305(a), and 62 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

As part of the investigation, Bantwal Rural police arrested Mohammed Shakhir. He is currently being questioned, and further investigation is underway.
