Ontario, Jul 25: Indian squash player Anahat Singh scripted history by becoming the first Indian to reach the Women's Singles final of the World Junior Squash Championships after defeating Egypt's Barb Sameh 3-1 in the semi-finals in Ontario, Canada.

The 18-year-old produced another impressive performance to book her place in the title clash, where she will take on Egypt's Ruqayya Salem later on Saturday. The final is scheduled to begin at around 10.30 pm IST.

Anahat is now just one win away from becoming India's first-ever World Junior squash champion.

She had advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Egypt's Habiba Rizk 3-1 in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

With that victory, Anahat became the first Indian squash player to reach the semi-finals of the World Junior Championships in two successive editions.

She had also reached the semi-finals in the 2025 edition, where she secured a historic bronze medal after losing to Egypt's Nadien Elhammamy.

By progressing to the final this year, Anahat has gone one step further and continued her remarkable rise, marking another milestone for Indian squash on the international stage.
