Mangaluru, Jul 25: Rohan Corporation hosted a special ‘Gratitude Gathering’ at Rohan City, Bejai, Mangaluru, on Saturday, July 25, to express its heartfelt appreciation to all those who supported and contributed to the success of ‘An Evening with Shah Rukh Khan’ in Mangaluru.
The gathering also featured a special felicitation ceremony honouring five distinguished personalities associated with Indian cinema for their achievements at the 72nd National Film Awards.
The five award recipients felicitated on the occasion were Roopashree Vorkady, Shivadhwaj Shetty, Prashanth Rai, Dr Pradeep Kenshanur, and Aatish S. Shetty.
Director Dion Monteiro, general manager Sumana, and other distinguished guests were present at the gathering.
Addressing the gathering, Dion Monteiro highlighted the need to promote cinema and create greater opportunities for the film industry alongside the growth of infrastructure and technology.
“Just putting up buildings or bringing in IT is not enough anymore. We need to do everything — we have to build film cities and promote cinema,” he said.
Congratulating the five National Film Award recipients, Monteiro said achieving recognition at the national level was a remarkable accomplishment, considering the vast number of actors, filmmakers, and films competing across the country.
He appreciated the awardees for their talent, dedication, and hard work, noting that national recognition requires sustained effort behind the scenes in addition to talent and blessings.
Monteiro also recalled the successful hosting of ‘An Evening with Shah Rukh Khan’ in Mangaluru and expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the event memorable.
He acknowledged the support extended by the press and media, event partners, staff, colleagues, well-wishers, family members, police personnel, government departments, and the administration, stating that the cooperation of all these stakeholders played a crucial role in bringing the event to fruition.
“Bringing Shah Rukh Khan to Mangaluru was only possible because of all your support,” he said, adding that the success of the event brought immense satisfaction to the entire Rohan Corporation team.
Recalling the preparations, Monteiro said the team worked intensively for nearly one-and-a-half months, including Sundays and late nights, to ensure that the commitment made to the people of Mangaluru was fulfilled.
“We made a promise, and we had to deliver. We promised, we delivered, and that brings us great satisfaction,” he said.
The gathering served as a celebration of both cinematic excellence and collective effort, with Rohan Corporation recognising the achievements of the five National Film Award recipients while also thanking the people and organisations whose support contributed to the success of its Shah Rukh Khan event.
The occasion concluded on a warm note, with the felicitated personalities and guests appreciating Rohan Corporation for the honour, recognition, and gesture of gratitude.
