Bantwal, July 25: The Bantwal Rural police have registered a case against the management members of Sri Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka, and others in connection with the tragic incident at Barimar on July 22, in which a child died and several others were injured after a tree fell on a school vehicle.
In connection with the incident, a case was initially registered at Bantwal Rural police station as an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) No. 35/2026 under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
As part of the ongoing investigation, police obtained a report from the Regional Transport Officer regarding the validity of the documents of the school vehicle involved in the accident. The report revealed that the vehicle’s insurance certificate and fitness certificate were not valid at the time of the incident.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had not been registered in the name of Sri Rama Vidya Kendra. Instead, it was found to be owned by another trust.
Following these findings, a case has been registered at Bantwal Rural police station against the heads of the Sri Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka management committee, and others for allegedly being responsible for allowing a vehicle without the required documents to operate on public roads, posing a threat to the safety of students.
The case has been registered under Section 125 of the BNS and Sections 196 and 192(1) of the Indian Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is under way.
