Bantwal, Jul 26: A pedestrian was injured after the rear wheel of a moving container lorry detached and struck her near the B C Road junction.
The incident occurred when the container lorry, bearing an out-of-state registration, was travelling on the highway. It is alleged that the rear wheel came off due to the driver's negligence.

The detached wheel hit a woman, identified as Precilla, who was walking along the roadside. She sustained injuries in the impact and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal traffic police station in connection with the incident.
