Mangaluru, Jul 26: An unnatural death report (UDR No. 19/2026 U/S 194 BNSS) has been registered at the Mangaluru railway police station under the Karnataka State Railway Police (GRP) jurisdiction. Authorities have issued a lookout notice seeking public assistance in identifying the deceased man.

The incident came to light on July 18 when the Matsyagandha Express (Train No. 12619) arrived at platform number 4 of the Mangaluru Central Railway Station. An unconscious man, aged around 45, was found inside the DS coach. Following this, station master Akash Kumar Meena alerted the railway medical team, who arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead upon examination. Consequently, the Mangaluru railway police registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

The deceased is approximately 45 years old and about 4.5 feet tall. He had a medium build, a round face, a broad forehead, short black-and-grey hair, and a moustache. A distinguishing physical feature is that both his legs were amputated below the knee. He also bore a tattoo reading "POOJ YR ANIL" on his right arm. At the time of discovery, he was wearing a cement-coloured jersey, a checked shirt, a black t-shirt, blue trousers, and black Bermuda shorts.

A small notebook recovered from the deceased contained handwritten entries reading: Anil Maruti, Kolkata, Mumbai, Malad East, and Jamrushi Nagar.
