Jaipur, Jul 26: Two young girls sustained serious injuries after an overloaded tractor-trolley carrying cement electric poles went out of control and rammed into a grocery shop in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, police said.

The injured have been identified as Komal (12) and Garima (6), who were buying items at the neighbourhood store when the accident occurred on Saturday.

According to police, the tractor-trolley, reportedly owned by a contractor, lost control while climbing an uphill stretch due to its excessive load. The vehicle accelerated backwards before crashing into the grocery shop, trapping the two girls between the tractor and the shop's front counter.

Local residents rushed to the scene and rescued the children before shifting them to a nearby hospital. Both girls suffered fractures in both legs and are undergoing treatment.

The woman running the grocery shop also sustained minor injuries in the incident.

A CCTV video of the accident has surfaced, showing the tractor-trolley crashing into the shop.

Police said the driver and three other occupants fled the spot immediately after the accident, abandoning the vehicle. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver, and the tractor-trolley has been seized.

Efforts are underway to trace the accused, while a notice has been issued to the owner of the vehicle as part of the investigation.
