Bengaluru, Jul 27: A two-day Bible convention on the theme ‘Rooted in Scripture, Renewed in Spirit’ was organized at Bethany Provincial House, Bangalore province on July 25 and 26. The convention was facilitated by Sr Pramila Fernandes on Day 1 and Sr Meena Fernandes on Day 2.
Fr Franklin D’Souza, spiritual director of the Karnataka Regional Charismatic Renewal Movement and youth director for Vocation Promotion & Formation, diocese of Shimoga, served as the resource person. The MFC (Missionary Families for Christ) Team, JoJi, Tiya, Nitin, Franklin, Jonathan, from Bengaluru led the praise and worship throughout the programme.






































The convention began on Saturday, July 25 with an inaugural prayer, a welcome address by Sr Winnifred, and a keynote address by Sr Sahana, provincial superior. The sessions conducted by Fr Franklin were as follows: The first session was on ‘Crisis in life, Rediscovering Jesus in One's faith and the Power of the Word of God’ based on Luke 5:1-11.
The second session was on ‘Forgiveness Brings Healing’ with a focus on forgiveness and the eucharist, based on Matthew 18:21-35. The day concluded with an adoration and healing session led by Fr Franklin D'Souza and the MFC Team.
On Sunday, July 26, the day began with a guided meditation on ‘Letter to Jesus’ by Fr Franklin. The third session was on ‘Knowing the Gift of God’ based on John 4:4-10. The fourth session was on ‘Formation of Right Conscience’ based on Mark 6:14-29, followed by the eucharistic celebration, presided over by Fr Franklin.
The fifth session was on ‘Genuine Repentance Brings Healing’ based on Luke 15:1-10. confessions and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament were organized, with five priests assisting in the confessions. The programme concluded with infilling and anointing adoration led by Fr Franklin, followed by benediction. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sr Cynthia Pais, followed by dinner and dispersal.
The two days were a time of deep encounter with God’s Word, forgiveness, healing, repentance, and renewal in the Spirit, helping all participants to be rooted in Scripture and strengthened in faith.
