Mangaluru: St Theresa's School bids heartfelt farewell to Theresa Fernandes on her retirement

Mangaluru, Jul 27: St Theresa's School, Bendur, accorded a heartfelt farewell to Theresa Fernandes, a dedicated member of the non-teaching staff, on July 25, in recognition of her 14 years of faithful and committed service to the institution.

The farewell programme was graced by Sr Shaila, correspondent of the School, Sr Lourdes, principal, Sr Vidya, vice principal, and Sr Chrisette, school finance in-charge, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff.

The programme began with a meaningful prayer service conducted by the teachers, followed by a prayer song invoking God's abundant blessings upon Theresa as she embarks on a new phase of life. The gathering was then warmly welcomed with a welcome address.

A heartfelt tribute highlighting Theresa's dedication, simplicity, sincerity, and cheerful service was shared by one of her colleagues. A teacher also presented a specially composed song that beautifully portrayed her years of commitment, kindness, and the affection she earned from everyone in the school community.

As a mark of appreciation, Sr Shaila read out a heartfelt letter from the management expressing gratitude for Theresa's invaluable contribution to the institution. She was then honoured with a shawl, a garland, a fruit basket, and a token of gratitude from the management. The office staff and her colleagues also presented her with a memento as a token of their love and appreciation for her dedicated years of service.

Responding to the felicitations, Theresa Fernandes expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the management, sisters, teaching and non-teaching staff for their constant support, encouragement, and the memorable journey she experienced at St Theresa's School. The staff members then sang a wishing song, conveying their love, prayers, and best wishes as she entered her retired life.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, after which the staff personally greeted Theresa and wished her good health, happiness, and God's abundant blessings. The celebration ended with refreshments, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a humble, hardworking, and devoted colleague whose dedicated service and warm presence will always remain a part of the St Theresa's School family.
