Kasargod, Jul 27: Retired sub-inspector Dhan Raj (65), who had played a key role in cracking several major criminal cases in Kasargod district during his police career, was found dead after allegedly hanging himself at his residence on Monday, July 27.
Dhan Raj, son of Muralidharan, was a native of Kannur. Following his retirement from service, he had built a house at Parakkatte in Kasargod and had been residing there. His body was found hanging inside the house on Monday morning.

The body has been shifted to the mortuary of the Kasargod General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Dhan Raj had served in various police stations across Kasargod district and was widely regarded as a highly efficient and astute investigating officer. He retired from service as a member of the Kasargod Crime Branch.
After retirement, he worked as a security officer at a private hospital in Cherkala. However, it is learnt that he had resigned from the job about two months ago due to ill health.
