Udupi, Jul 27: In a significant public-private initiative aimed at strengthening police infrastructure, Kalkura Builders and Developers has partnered with the Udupi District Police to renovate and upgrade police barricades across the district.

The project was formally launched on Monday, July 27, with the refurbished barricades being handed over to Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, IPS, Ranjan Kalkura, Managing Director Kalkura Builders and developers.

As part of the first phase, eight police barricades under the jurisdiction of the Udupi Town Police Station, which were in need of repairs, have been completely renovated and upgraded in accordance with prescribed quality and uniform standards.

Udupi district currently has a total of 120 police barricades, comprising 59 single barricades and 61 double barricades. Under the initiative, all existing barricades will be refurbished and upgraded into double barricades to enhance their durability, visibility and operational efficiency.

The work will be carried out in phases over the next two months by Kalkura Builders and Developers, with all barricades being refurbished in a uniform design while adhering to prescribed quality and operational standards. Once completed, the upgraded barricades will be returned to the respective police stations across the district for regular use.
