Sanguem, Jul 28: Fomento Resources Private Limited on Monday organised an 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' tree plantation programme in collaboration with the Sanguem Forest Department at the Block IV–Kalay Mineral Block near the Sai Baba Temple in Dukorkond, Santona.
The programme was attended by Forest Department officials Sadanand Gaonkar and Gauresh Gaonkar, along with company representatives Sanjay Kumar and Mines Manager Mandar Dessai.
The plantation drive saw enthusiastic participation from the company's staff and workers, who actively took part in tree planting and environmental awareness activities.

As part of the initiative, Forest Department officials distributed around 500 saplings among employees and workers. Fruit-bearing trees were also planted at the Sai Baba Temple premises in Santona to promote environmental conservation and sustainable development.
An awareness session was conducted to educate participants on the importance of tree plantation, the role of forests in maintaining ecological balance, and the collective responsibility of protecting the environment for future generations.
Adding a creative touch to the programme, staff and workers presented a skit highlighting the importance of planting, nurturing and conserving trees. The performance conveyed a strong message on environmental protection and encouraged participants to contribute towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
Fomento Resources said it remains committed to promoting sustainable environmental practices through plantation drives, awareness programmes and community participation initiatives aimed at creating a healthier and greener environment.
