Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 28: Reflection Day was organised for the faculty members of St Agnes School (CBSE) and St Agnes PU College on July 23, under the auspices of St Agnes PU College. The programme aimed at renewing the spirit of teaching and inspiring educators to embrace their role as mentors and guides in shaping young minds.

The session was led by Fr Peter C Ss R, Fr Ravi Teja C Ss R, and Fr Nirmal Kumar C Ss R from Bengaluru. The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Sr Norine D’Souza, principal of St Agnes PU College, who greeted the resource persons and faculty members and emphasised the importance of continuous reflection and professional growth.

The resource persons conducted an engaging and thought-provoking session through action songs, interactive activities, and meaningful reflections. Using the analogy of a seed growing into a strong and fruitful tree, they beautifully illustrated how a teacher’s guidance nurtures the growth and character of every student. The session further highlighted the concept of the Saptaswar, relating it to essential values in an educator’s life—self-compassion, respect, goal setting, cherishing memories and ideas, problem-solving skills, deepening relationships, noble thinking, and service. The speakers concluded with the inspiring message that “Intelligence plus character is true education,” reminding teachers that their influence extends far beyond academics.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Shailaja, Kannada faculty, who expressed sincere gratitude to the resource persons, the management, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

The Reflection Day session proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience, motivating the faculty to continue their mission of educating with wisdom, compassion, integrity, and a commitment to holistic student development.
