Mangaluru, Jul 28: A major fire broke out at a shoe store in Hampankatta on Tuesday morning, completely gutting the shop and causing extensive damage.
The blaze also spread to two adjacent shops. The shoe store, named Europe Shoes, was completely destroyed in the fire.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and engaged in efforts to bring the blaze under control.
Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. The incident has resulted in heavy property loss.
