Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates Grandparents Day

Mangaluru, Jul 28: Grandparents hold a very special place in every child's life. They are the roots of the family and a storehouse of wisdom, love, and blessings. To honour their invaluable role and strengthen the bond between generations, Grandparents Day was celebrated by Lourdes Central School on July 27 in the LCS Summit Hall with great enthusiasm for the grandparents of kindergarten section.

The programme began with breakfast, followed by an ice-breaking session and the grand entry of the dignitaries. The event was inaugurated with a soulful prayer dance.

The welcome address was delivered by the students of KG. The little ones of pre-KG presented a cute action dance, which received a lot of applause.

This was followed by the introduction and felicitation of the chief guest, Dr Sukhesh Rao, consultant pulmonologist and allergologist, and proud grandparent of Lourdites Sanjeeth Bhat of 5C and Reyansh Bhat of KG2B, by the dignitaries.

The prizes were distributed to the winners of the day's games. The chief guest addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of grandparents. He appreciated the initiative of our school in celebrating this special day.

The highlight of the day was the performances by the children:

Wishing song by KG1 & KG2
Dance drama by KG Students
Teachers' performance
Special performance by grandparents and grandchildren

The presidential address was delivered by our respected manager, Fr Stany Pereira. In his speech, he said that this was a unique programme that made every grandparent proud and was truly heart-touching.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by the students, followed by the school anthem and a photo session at the selfie corner.

 

 

The event was a grand success and filled the hall with love, laughter, and joy. Grandparents felt valued and involved in the school activities. Children expressed their love and gratitude through songs and dance. The event strengthened the school-family relationship.
