Mangaluru, Jul 29: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will organise a Konkani poetry symposium titled 'Kavyam Vhalo - 17' at the academy hall on Saturday, August 1 at 4 pm.
Academy president Joachim Stany Alvares will preside over the programme. Popular mimicry artist Dr Vasanth S Bandekar will participate as the chief guest for the event. Senior press photographer Ramachandra Bhat Ullal will be felicitated on the occasion for his contributions.
Renowned poet Wilfred Lobo Padil will preside over the poetry symposium. A lineup of poets, including Jossy Pinto Kinnigoli, Shaila Manglurkar, Chelsea Pearl Castelino, Richie Pereira, Marcel D'Souza (Maccha Milar), Assunta D'Souza, Jagadish Bhandary, Ron Michael Vaz, Joyce Pinto Kinnigoli, and Lawrence Baptist Jeppu, will recite their poems during the session.
The academy has requested Konkani speakers, literature enthusiasts, and the general public to attend the programme in large numbers.
