New Delhi, Jul 29: India captain Shubman Gill has climbed to the top of the ICC men's ODI batting rankings, overtaking New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell following his impressive performances in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against England.

Gill, 26, scored an unbeaten 80 in the opening ODI and followed it up with 77 in the third match at Lord's, helping him move to the No. 1 spot in the latest rankings.

Mitchell, who topped the rankings earlier, began New Zealand's ODI series against the West Indies with a 65 but managed only 28 runs in each of the next two matches, allowing Gill to surpass him. Mitchell is now ranked second, while Indian stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma occupy the third and fourth spots respectively.

Meanwhile, teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has made a remarkable rise in the ICC T20I batting rankings, jumping 230 places to 48th.

The 15-year-old amassed 151 runs in the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, including two half-centuries, earning his biggest leap in the rankings after beginning the series at No. 278.

India's Ishan Kishan retained his position as the world's No. 1 T20I batter with a career-best 910 rating points. Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan moved up to second place, while Abhishek Sharma slipped to third after a quiet series in Zimbabwe.

Tilak Varma also improved his position, climbing to sixth after remaining unbeaten throughout the Zimbabwe series, highlighted by a fluent 60-run knock in the second T20I in Harare.
Among bowlers, India's Varun Chakaravarthy dropped to eighth in the T20I rankings after missing the Zimbabwe series due to injury.

India continue to hold the top spot in both the ICC ODI and T20I team rankings. The T20I series victory over Zimbabwe helped the team maintain its No. 1 position, with India and England currently tied on 268 rating points.
