Mangalore, Mar 23:
At a short and meaningful programme held at Moti Mahal on Friday March 23, 'Chocolates', a book authored by Edwin J F D’Souza was released by Rtn Rajendra Kalbhavi, president of the Rotary Club of Mangalore.

The book is a compilation of Konkani short stories translated into English, published from Chennai.

Addressing the gathering of the author's friends, well-wishers and fans, Rtn Kalbhavi said that he was overwhelmed with joy at the opportunity of releasing ‘Chocolates’.

Edwin D'Souza said that a writer is born and cannot be created. Emphasizing on the importance of reading, he said only reading makes one knowledgeable and experienced. He recalled the inspiration he got from his mother to read books at an early age.

'Chocolate', originally published in ‘Raknno’ and then in Nagari script in ‘Jaag’ is an addition to Edwin’s many short story collections which have found their way into English, Hindi, Kannada and of late in Kashmiri.

Fakhrudin Kunil and other office-bearers of Rotary Club were present.
