IMD issues orange alert for Udupi district; warns of heavy rain, gusty winds on Aug 1-2

Udupi, July 31: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Udupi district, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds on August 1 and 2.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions as the district is expected to experience intense monsoon activity during the alert period.

According to the weather forecast, heavy spells of rain are likely across several parts of Udupi district.

Residents living in landslide-prone and flood-prone areas have been advised to stay alert and follow the instructions issued by the district administration and disaster management authorities.

Motorists have also been urged to exercise caution while driving, especially during periods of heavy rainfall, to ensure safety on the roads.
